Morrigan Crow series


There is only two books so far in this series, but apparently Jessica Townsend is planning to write an amazing nine books!
 Morrigan Crow is a cursed child. So she is sentenced to die on the last day of the year, that people from her region, Wintersea Republic, call Eventide. Then she meets Jupiter North. To save Morrigan, he smuggles her into the "Free State" of Nevermoor. She is amazed with the wonder and the magic, and their method of transport (brollies), but discovers a darker, more evil side of Nevermoor...
I would recommend this series to 9 to 12 year olds. ★★★★★ ー BookGirl

(just letting you know) I was recommended Robin Sloan’s Sourdough as my personal interests vary from DIY to electronics, technology and cooking - of recent time trying to craft the perfect pizza dough. The novel was a great read. I really got to know Lois and loved seeing her blossom as the adventure unfolds. She is a likeable character with great skills as a coder and a grounded view of what is truly important in life. The author weaves in some insightful observations of technology's current trajectory and plays out some interesting possible scenarios which keep you guessing. I recommend Sourdough to those who like a fun read with a peppering of tech and a strong nod to our shared humanity. ★★★★★— Adult Reader
